Grasshopper have announced their partnered game with Electronic Arts as Shadows of the Damned at TGS, an all-new psychological action thriller brought to you by the collective creative genius of Suda51, Shinji Mikami and Akira Yamaoka, scheduled for released in the Summer of 2011 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
"We are excited to finally take the cover off our latest project and invite gamers from around the globe to experience this new, warped world we have created," said Goichi Suda, CEO of Grasshopper Manufacture. "By partnering with EA, a publisher that truly shares our commitment to quality and innovation, we have been able to develop Shadows of the Damned according to our ambitious vision while creating an entertainment property we believe will appeal to a global audience."
You will assume the role of Garcia, a leather-clad, motorcycle-riding demon hunter whose true love is kidnapped by demons out for vengeance. Players will be challenged by puzzles, and thrust into battles with a variety of deformed creatures in a grisly hellish world. It sounds all a bit stereotypical for the moment, hopefully however with a fantastical musical score by Akira Yamaoka, the strange humour of Suda51 and the intense action of Shinji Mikami, it will be a match made in heaven.
“We are honored to be working with Suda-san and Mikami-san and all of the wonderfully creative minds at Grasshopper. This is one of the most daring and innovative projects in the EA Partners program,” said David DeMartini, Senior Vice President and General Manager, EA Partners. “We look forward to launching this game next summer."
It may not sound like the creative genius of Suda51, however only time will tell as we await the release of Shadows of the Damned during Summer 2011 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, and until then, there's always Sine Mora.
