It may have been a long time coming for those die-hard Sony fans, but the Playstation Network is officially now up, and more secure for your comfort.
Players are required to perform a firmware update, and then update their current PSN password before they are go! So get all that Portal 2 online co-op and Brink multiplayer out of your system that you've been agonising so long for.
The Playstation Network outage was indeed a large shock to the system of most games, but a lesson learned that nowhere is safe.. well except the PSN now, because of their rock-hard security update.
Sony are gradually restoring functionality, so don't expect everything to be back up, however they are beginning with multiplayer functionality, and some services have been restored already in Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico and South America.
Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole region. The process has begun and some countries are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach you.
In the meantime, nowÂfs a great time to get your PS3ÂÅ’s firmware updated and change your password, both of which are required to get online.
So whilst everyone enjoys their online playstation usage, perhaps the jokes can die down, and everyone can get back to their normal lives.
It would seem that the service is now undergoing maintenance, perhaps a few too many fans have decided to reactivate their accounts...
