It feels as though we have been waiting a life time for its release, but Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is now finally out, funnily enough, another game that the UK has been waiting for; Deathsmiles is also seeing its release today. Here’s our pick of the releases this week.
Pucca's Race for Kisses
Nintendo Wii
Pucca’s Race for Kisses in an obscure but immensely cute game for the Nintendo Wii based on the popular Korean franchise Pucca. The story mode revolves around Pucca, and her quest to win Garu’s heart, the main game plays like a platformer with simple 2D graphics. Pucca’s Race for Kisses also includes a host of mini games, for cute Valentine’s Day related fun.
Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Fate of Two Worlds
Xbxo 360, Playstation 3
Ever since the release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, fighting fanatics have been eagerly anticipating the release of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Fate of Two Worlds; the ultimate team based fighting game around. Picking favourite characters from the two companies you can take your friends and the computer on in a fast paced, bright and colourful fight to end all fights.
Deathsmiles Deluxe Edition
Xbox 360
Deathsmiles is an addictively beautiful new schmup that features proper bullet hell! Created by Cave, one of the most famous and highly regarded schmup developers in the world, Deathsmiles marks their first shooter title to see release in PAL territories. You play as one of five impressionable looking Japanese witches and blow things to pieces in the style of shooter that everyone knows and loves, but only the hardcore can finish.
Tanker Truck Simulator
Windows
Unlike past truck driving games, Tanker Truck Simulator is a niche of a niche, and allows the player to experience behind the wheel of a Tanker Truck, by making deliveries across a city. In Tanker Truck Simulator you even have the option of transferring the oil by hand at each drop-off. Or if you’re just playing for the ride, then this can be done without your aid. Whilst it’s not the next Truck sim, Tanker Truck will fill a nice little void.
Magicka
Windows
Magicka is a fantastic new action based magic game based on Norse Mythology. Based across 13 levels and supporting 4 player co-op with extraordinarily dynamic magic casting Magicka is only made better by the humour throughout, it’s like a strange mix of Lost Vikings and Discworld, and is now available in retail stores.
Baron Wittard: Nemesis of Ragnarok
Windows
Baron Wittard: Nemesis of Ragnarok is a step back to the good old days of head scratching puzzles that just might require a pen and paper, and is the second game coming out this week that is rooted in Norse Mythology. Baron Wittard built Utopia; a city within a dome, however it was never finished and the Baron mysteriously vanished, as an investigative reporter you will need to uncover exactly what is going on in Utopia. Playing much like Myst, Baron Wittard is a solitary exploration game so you can take your time exploring a world with no barriers.
With a mix of releases across all platforms there is a bit of choice for everyone, we’ve been enjoying Magicka, and can’t wait to try out Deathsmiles. Are you buying anything this week?
