This week marks quite a impressive line up of games for your hungry hands, and expect them to keep coming as the fourth quarter arises and makes way for the surge of Autumn/Winter gaming. Here's our pick of the best releases this week.
Dead Rising 2
Xbox360, Playstation 3
It's snuck up on us like wildfire, Dead Rising 2 is out this week; the sequel to the million-unit selling classic Dead Rising, rather than stick you in a mall for three days Dead Rising 2 sees protagonist Chuck Greene in the strip of Still Creek for three days as he tries to protect his little girl. With more zombies on screen than ever and a host of combination weapons, Dead Rising 2 looks fantastic and with its included multiplayer is definitely one that fans of arcade-action will need to pick up. We had a fantastic time with it for the preview, and cannot wait to get our hands on it. Unfortunately the Windows version has been put back a week.
F1 2010
Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows
Formula One fans across the world will rejoice as F1 2010 is released, the first F1 game since the 2006 season, F1 2010 promises to be the best, most realistic F1 racing simulation ever, created with the EGO engine, F1 2010 will include dynamic weather, dynamic track, and bespoke AI for every opponent, if Codemasters live up to everything that they have promised, they have struck gold.
DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue
Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network
In the sequel to the epically awesome DeathSpank, it's Diablo meets Monkey Island with the incredible DeathSpank, hero of the downtrodden in the ultimate hack-n-slash quest game in a new 15 hour arcade title perfect for the weekend. Be prepared for it to tickle your funny bones as you join forces with Steve the Ninja for more local co-operative fun.
Demolition Company
Windows
From the creators of Farming Simulator comes Demolition Company, possibly the most fun and arcade-styled simulator to be released on Windows since SimTower, with a host of vehicles and demolition equipment players can take part in the career mode where they will need to make money in order to succeed in the competitive world of Demolition. With extremely impressive graphics and semi-realistic destruction it is a must-buy.
Sid Meiers Civilization V
Windows
Sid Meier's long awaited fifth title in the hugely popular turn based strategy series is released. With a lot of changes, some good and some bad all you hexagon fans out there get ready for battle, with one of eighteen historic civilizations to play with. Although it wont have extreme diplomacy, our turn based aficiando cannot wait to get his hands on the full copy, check out the demo if you haven't already.
Quantum Theory
Playstation 3 and Xbox 360
Tecmo Koei's post-apocalyptic action-shooter Quantum Theory is presented in an art nouveau style world which merges the beauty of the organic and technology. With an ever changing battlefield and two player co-operative play Quantum Theory's radiant colours make it a sleeper worthy of a watch. It may not be getting the best of reviews currently, but if you're a fan of Tecmo Koei's games it will definitely be worth a purchase.
Our whole crew is satisfied this week, with Civilization V for Paul, Dead Rising 2 for Catherine, Demolition Company for Charlotte and F1 2010 for Tim we won't see another perfect week like this for a long time, what are you buying this Friday?
