A visual and written guide for Blade’s Midnight Suns Challenge – Bare Fangs

Blade’s challenge requires you to defeat the “Incarnation of Memory” and acquire the “Glaive” card that it holds. Starting with 2 “Quick Strike+,” “Daywalker,” and “Relentless” cards, Blade needs to prioritise taking out the Whispers of Memory in as little plays as possible so he can stack up the Bleed effect on the Incarnation of Memory. Accompanying the Incarnation is two Whispers of Memory holding a “Make ‘em Bleed” and “Reaper” card. Redraws and Moves are disabled for this challenge.

Blade is a damage dealer and all about stacking up the Damage Over Time (D.O.T.) Bleed effect for maximum damage and he does it very well. His “Make ‘em Bleed” and chain strike cards are integral to unlocking his potential for damage while cards like “The Hunger” can Mark enemies for free card plays and give health recovery when necessary. Easily one of the most powerful characters in the game when played correctly and this challenge is the perfect tutorial.

To complete this challenge you will need to focus on making the extra bonuses on your cards work to their fullest and stack the Bleed effect on the Incarnation of Memory and its minions as high as possible.

Walkthrough

  • First, “Quick Strike” on the Whisper holding the “Make ‘em Bleed” card and follow up with “Relentless” which receives a +5 to damage from being attacked already. This will K.O. and give you “Make ‘em Bleed.”

  • Second, buff with “Make ‘em Bleed” and give the next two cards a Bleed effect.

  • Third, use all 4 hits in the “Daywalker” chain to stack up the Bleed on the Incarnation of Memory up to a total of 8.

  • Fourth, with “Make ‘em Bleed” still in effect for one more play, use Strike to attack both targets and push the Incarnation of Memory’s Bleed up to a stack of 10 and the Whisper to 2.

  • Fifth, “Quick Strike+” will now do extra damage and K.O. the Whisper of Memory for having Bleed and give you the final card – “Reaper.”

  • Sixth, targeting the Incarnation of Memory, “Reaper” will now consume all Bleed stack and convert it into the same amount of damage it would deal per turn for its duration IN ONE SHOT (This is why I said Blade is one of the most powerful characters in the game). Easy K.O. and will give you the “Glaive” card.

  • Last, destroy the crystal with the new “Glaive” and congratulations, you have completed the challenge.
