For those of you uneducated in the brillance of MDK, you're in luck, as Interplay Entertainment and Beamdog partner to bring MDK2 to the Wii and MDK2 HD to the PC later this year.
“It is a great pleasure to announce that we are returning to the adventures of Kurt Hectic, Dr. Hawkins and the 6-legged gun-toting robotic dog Max.”, said Hervé Caen, CEO of Interplay. "MDK2 was a great title to work on and we're happy to have some of the original team working on these new versions" seconded Trent Oster, co-Founder of Beamdog.
MDK2 will be seeing release on the Wii through Nintendo's great WiiWare platform, and MDK2 HD will be electronically distributed through Beamdog's digital distribution platform. This will be the first of promised re-releases from Interplay, the series was a great achievement of humour and fast-paced action, who knows, perhaps MDK3 could still see the light of day. For now we can wait to enjoy MDK2 in glorious HD splendor this winter.
