Magrunner Dark Pulse the devilishly challenging first-person puzzler from Frogwares Studio is now out on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, and to celebrate, the developers have released a launch trailer for the console version.

In the near future of 2048 the all-powerful Gruckezber Corporation has invited young and brilliant individuals to join Magtech, an elite research training program that tests them to their limits in a series of rooms, sounds familiar, well instead of portals you can only pass through the rooms by magnetically charging items in the level that will attract or repel elements in the environment to create platforms and the like.

From first glance Magrunner Dark Pulse looks like a bit of a Portal rip-off but it's oh so much more than that, and a reliance on magnets as your main puzzle element makes for a particularly intelligent puzzler with just a touch of the Cthulhu Mythos to add a little extra to the dark story.

Magrunner Dark Pulse is available now on the Playstation Network and tomorrow via the Xbox Live Arcade, however if you aren't a console gamer the game is readily available on PC through most digital distributors.
