2K Games have announced the first two downloadable content packs for its upcoming action crime game, Mafia II; The Betrayal of Jimmy will be available as a free download when the game launches for players worldwide that purchase Mafia II for the Playstation 3.
The second downloadable content pack is Jimmy’s Vendetta which will be available shortly after the launch, and will offer players a different arcade style of gameplay, complete with new missions and a leaderboard.
The Betrayal of Jimmy will be available exclusively for the Playstation 3 and will be accessible via the free voucher codes that will be included with new copies of the game, if you buy the game second-hand you will be able to purchase the DLC from the day of launch on the Playstation Network for £6.29.
The first DLC will take players into an alternate perspective of the mob through the eyes of Jimmy; a mercenary who is the guy that others will come to for finishing jobs. Featuring dozens of intense arcade-style, city-based missions that will keep you driving, shooting and rampaging through Empire Bay, players will rack up points for performance, power slides and skilled shots, creating a score that will be immediately posted to the new leaderboard system.
Jimmy’s Vendetta will be available for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows, players will dirty their hands helping Jimmy clean up other people’s messes, again centered around Empire Bay so that players will be given more reasons to head back to the city. Details on pricing and availability will be revealed at a later date.
Mafia II is being developed by 2K Czech from the same team behind the award-winning Mafia, a demo for Mafia II will be available August 10th for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows before its release in the UK on August 27th.

The demo will invite gamers to dive into the ‘Buzzsaw’ level where Vito and his mob friends are sent to take out a mobster by the name of ‘The Fat Man’ the Buzzsaw demo takes place during the summer of the '50s, the considered ‘birth of cool’, so full of rock'n'roll, hot rods and rebellious attitudes. The demo will showcase the vibrant edge-of-your-seat-action, as well as a slice of the expansive city of Empire Bay.
