If you’re sensible then you’ll know that there is no better feeling than sitting down with a good old psychological horror and getting your socks scared clean off! Well one clean and easy method to achieve this is with the inspiration of the brilliant works of H.P. Lovecraft.
Senscape are doing just that, and their game Asylum; set in a huge, decaying mental institute is just waiting to be explored. With Senscape’s founder having previously designed and developed the infamous Scratches, they hope to build on the same intriguing story and terrifying mood with an even more immersive atmosphere and story. They’ve even put together a short interactive demo for adventure fans to try out.
It’s been in the works for quite some time now, however the studio have created a Kickstarter to cover the final months of development, and with 40% of its targeted $100,666 achieved in just 8 days it’s looking good. But it's not surprising as the game has already been greenlit on Steam!
If you’re a fan of being scared like a little girl, or maybe you just enjoyed Scratches, then be sure to donate some of your time and money to the Kickstarter campaign, with just $15 securing you a copy of the game when it is released, and a host of in-game and physical rewards available.
Asylum is scheduled for a release towards the end of 2013 for Windows PC, Mac and Linux.
