Electronic Arts and BioWare have jointly announced today that the Mass Effect 3 demo will be hitting consoles and PCs in just under a month’s time.
The demo will not only give you the chance to see the mind-blowing opening attack from the start of the campaign. Being at the start we're sure it won't spoilt too much if you play the demo, but we're sure it'll definitely leave you waiting in anticipation for the game's release on March 9th. As well as some of the main campaign you'll also get to check out the co-op multiplayer mode in order to see just what it has in store.
"We are excited to be able to give gamers an expansive demo that will put them right on the front lines of this all-out galactic war," said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series. "The entire scale of the game is bigger than anything we've ever done. With its intense action, deep customization and raw emotional power, Mass Effect 3 will deliver a spectacular action RPG experience to fans of the series and newcomers alike."
We will point out though that the co-op will not be available to play from the 14th unless you've been granted early access to the demo through activating a Battlefield 3 online pass. There will be other ways announced shortly to gain early access; otherwise the co-op will go live from the 17th February.
The demo will be available on February 14th so if you have early access make sure your partners are busy if you want to get some ME3 in, otherwise it may have to wait a day to keep your other half happy. The demo will be available on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC simultaneously. The Xbox 360 version will also be the first demo to fully support Kinect’s voice recognition functionality.
